Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! 🍀 I’ve been in a rut with our meals lately so I looked for a Shepherd’s Pie recipe a couple weeks ago to make for tonight’s dinner. This one did not disappoint!! It was nice to sit down to a celebratory meal, especially in light of all that’s gone on in the past week in our world with COVID-19.
I’d like to make dinner “special” more often and eat as a family (at the table) more than we do. I’m guilty of plopping in front of the television with my plate at the end of a long day, and we often eat at different times due to everyone’s schedules.
As tensions rise inside and outside our homes in the coming weeks, what can we do to make evening meals special?
Let’s be real...my family will have some quiet dinners in front of the TV and maybe a few quiet ones due to grumpy family members with cabin fever. BUT, I’m going to try to throw more than a few special meals in there as well. Who’s with me? 🙋🏻♀️ Kids can assist in cooking, baking, planning the menu, or decorating/setting the table. When they take ownership in the meal they enjoy it even more.
